The Art of Living Event 2025
Growth, connection and everything in between
It’s been a few days since The Art of Living Event 2025, and I’m still taking it all in.
Last weekend I exhibited my work at The Art of Living Event in Rosmalen, together with my mother. One stand, two generations, two artistic styles. And yet, one shared passion for the craft.
What stood out to me most this year was how different it felt compared to last year.
In 2024, everything was new. Exciting. A little overwhelming.
This year, there was more calm. More confidence. More space to truly connect.
From the moment the doors opened, the conversations started. People stopped, looked closer, leaned in. That familiar moment happened again and again:
“Is this a photograph?”
And then… the realization.
“No, this is hand-painted.”
That moment never gets old.
I saw people move closer to the canvas, tracing details with their eyes, suddenly noticing the layers, the brushstrokes, the time. Some people got goosebumps. One person had tears in their eyes. Others were mostly curious: How do you even do this?
For me, that’s where the magic is.
I like what the work evokes.
This year also made me aware of my own growth. I noticed how much more grounded I felt while talking about my work. I was able to explain not just what I make, but why. And that made the conversations deeper. More personal. More meaningful.
The result of that weekend still amazes me:
- 11 people who want to visit my studio for a commission
- 3 new commissions confirmed in the week after the event
- One artwork currently being viewed privately, with a strong chance of finding its new home
- And a growing list of people who signed up for my newsletter to stay connected
But beyond numbers, what stays with me most is the energy. The trust. The feeling that my work truly lands where it needs to land.
Sharing this experience with my mother made it even more special. Standing side by side as artists, each with our own voice, yet so clearly connected.
For now, I’m allowing myself to land. To look back with gratitude.
And then… it’s back to the studio. Because after a weekend like this, my hands are itching to create again.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by.
Who looked. Who asked. Who felt something.
Your reactions fuel my work for a long time to come.
See you next year? ✨
